Remo DaVinci played by Jay Thomas is the co-owner first of the New York Delicatessen and then Da Vinci's restaurant on the Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, and the brother of Jeanie DaVinci.

About Remo DaVinci[]

Remo

Remo like his sister Jeanie is a native of The Bronx, NY. who up stakes and moved to Boulder to open a New York Delicatessen, while his sister attends Medical School there. He and Jeanie share an apartment in Boulder and work together at the deli/restaurant when Jeanie isn't in school.

Hard working and ambitious, Remo frequently ran a number of events in the deli to try and drum up business with the aim of eventually having his own restaurant (which he and Jeanie opened in S3), DaVinci's becoming a popular hangout with music laid on (Mork and Mindy Meet Rick and Ruby) and celebrities hanging out (Mork Meets Robin Williams).

Personality[]

Remo is cocky, confident, dogmatic and opinionated. Hardworking and family orientated he is a traditionalist, fiercely loyal to friends and family, but also old fashioned. Especially in regards to women and women's roles, tipping into double standards and out and out sexism, which leads him into conflict with his sister, and on occasion, Mindy.

Relationships[]

Family[]

Jeanie DaVinci - Jeanie it is apparent got the book smarts in the family, but what Remo lacks in that regard he more than makes up for in drive and determination and confidence. Jeanie has a more knowledgeable and liberal outlook on life than her traditionalist brother, and that in conjunction with his occasionally overbearing protectiveness (especially in regards to who she dates) and sexist attitudes means that more often than not they are bickering over something. However both of them are the closest of siblings, working, living and talking through everything together.

Rosa DaVinci - Rosa comes to visit her children in Boulder, where she is worried (as it's a University Town) they will have fallen in with a beatnik/hippy crowd. Like most Italian boys, Remo holds his mother in high esteem, and while he enjoys (what he thinks is Mork) hanging out with two hot girls, he doesn't enjoy it so much in front of his mother (Mork's Vacation).

Leo Da Vinci - Leonardo(!) DaVinci the father of the clan is mentioned (Stark Raving Mork) but is revealed to have passed on, his widow Rosa, talking about what she would say to 'their father's' grave when she witnesses the antics of Mork (actually the alien Twelve) in Mork's Vacation.

Friends[]

Mork - Remo hits it off early with Mork, in part because he thinks Mork is Italian. He takes on a role of advisor, specifically in regards to women, and though he is a supporter of Mork's romancing Mindy, he's quick to help his friend out in regards to other women (though not his sister) when he thinks its needed.

Mindy McConnell - Remo gets on great with Mindy providing the subject has nothing to do with Remo's attitude towards women. Beyond that they are really good friends who share a sense of humor.

Nelson Flavor- According to Mork, Remo is Nelson's best friend (I Heard It Through the Morkvine) the two of them striking up a friendship while Nelson is running for City Council, Remo hosting some of Nelsons' campaign events, and helping Nelson out with his campaign TV appearance (while getting a plug in for his business) (Looney Tunes and Morkie Melodies) After Nelson fails to achieve his goals, Nelson hangs out at DaVinci's with Glenda Faye, with Remo helping him in his quest to loosen up.

Glenda Faye Comstock - Glenda Faye would be exactly the kind of girl Remo would go for, but both due to her relatively recent widow-hood and because she and Nelson are circling each other (or rather Nelson is circling her), and she and Jeanie are good friends, they are firmly in the friendzone.
